This policy paper will attempt to highlight how Israel uses Palestinian archaeology and the Palestinian cultural and natural heritage in order to grab land in the West Bank on which to build Zionist nationalist and religious settlements and thus to facilitate their annexation by Israel.

On October 7, an intensive Israeli aggression against the West Bank in different fields and sectors began. Although this targeting was prior to October 7, what happened after October 7 was an increase in the frequency, spatial and structural area of targeting, and an increase in the structure and intensity of the targeting. Israeli colonization continued killing, displacement, detention, demolition and destruction, targeting camps and infrastructure, and heavily targeting areas such as the Al-Aghwar area and South Hebron area.
